After attending a few art and craft fairs, I found many people have a wrong concept about handmade products. They always think handmade products are just simple and easy to produce. They think that they also can buy some materials to make it, why do they need to buy from me? I want to say “Yes, you can!” But do you think our work is only buying some materials to make it? Do you think our products haven’t quality? Now, I want to show you my work.
1.) Design
Even for a handmade product, I think about the design. I will do research and sketch.
2.) Development
Sometime, the first design is not ideal. So I will refine and develop it.
3.) Source Materials
I’m so lucky. I can find many materials in my home town. But still, there are many good quantity materials I need to order from Japan, Taiwan or New York!
4.) Make it
Every day, I take a few hours to make a product. Don’t think I can make it every time in juste one go. I need to redo and retry again and again. And do some adjustments.
5.) Finished
After finishing the product, I need to do a photo shoot for my @etsy customers and record it in my accounting system.
